Job Description: As an Associate Attorney specializing in Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the firm’s growth and expanding its client base. Your primary responsibility will be to identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and promote the firm’s services to targeted industries. Additional responsibilities include evaluating legal strategies for potential new clients, providing strategic legal guidance, managing the remote legal team,  being a contributing member on the leadership team, and ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Collaborate with the team to identify new opportunities for growth and expansion. Conduct a high volume of client consultations daily. Collaborate and participate in virtual business development and/or marketing events.

  • Developing and executing strategic business development plans: Create and implement plans to attract new clients and boost revenue.

  • Identifying potential clients and industries: Research and identify target clients and industries for growth opportunities. Utilize networking, cold calling, and other methods to establish contact.

  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Collaborating with attorneys and practice groups: Work closely with the legal team to customize services and solutions for clients. Ensure services meet the specific needs and preferences of clients.

  • Researching and analyzing market trends: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competition. Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion.

  • Developing marketing materials and presentations: Work with the leadership team and marketing manager to create compelling marketing materials, proposals, and presentations. Support business development efforts and engage clients effectively.

  • Tracking and reporting on business development activities: Monitor and report on business development activities and client interactions. Measure the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives.

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic legal advice to the legal team. Develop and implement legal strategies to support the firm’s business objectives. Attend quarterly, in-person strategic planning meetings.

  • Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with immigration laws, regulations, and government policies. Stay updated on changes in immigration law and advise the firm accordingly.

  • Team Management: Remotely manage and mentor the legal team, including attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative staff. Assign tasks, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations.

  • Client Representation: Oversee the representation of clients in immigration matters, including visa applications, petitions, and appeals. Review and approve legal documents and filings.

  • Risk Management: Identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and minimize exposure to legal liabilities.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of legal work performed by the firm. Review case files, documentation, and correspondence to maintain high standards of service.

  • Ensure Firm Efficiency: Work with the COO to ensure that software is fully implemented, all templates and procedures meet the highest quality of legal standards, adapt to changing legal conditions, and work with the COO as a resource to champion new technologies to gain efficiency for the Firm.

  • Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all aspects of legal practice. Ensure that the firm and its employees adhere to professional codes of conduct and legal ethics.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business immigration law, with a preference for expertise in technology, biotech, fintech, startups and similar industries

  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, and client relationship management.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellence in computer and technology use, preferably with advanced experience in utilizing Google suite, CRM and INSZoom case management software.

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a full-time Principal Associate Attorney. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the firm. The PAA will provide strategic legal guidance, manage the remote legal team,  be a contributing member on the leadership team, and ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations.

  • The position requires exceptional computer and software competencies. Extensive hands-on experience with INSZoom case management software is strongly preferred.

Alcorn Immigration Law is seeking a full-time, Writing-Intensive Business Immigration Paralegal to join our remote team. This position focuses on O-1A, EB-1A, EB-2 NIW immigration petitions as well as related applications, such as Adjustment of Status. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • 2+ years of employment-based immigration paralegal experience
  • Experience preparing  O-1, NIW, EB-1, E-2, L-1, and H-1B petitions, including drafting forms, reviewing and organizing evidence, and writing support letters
  • Strong technical and/or creative writing skills
  • Client-service mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
  • Naturally curious with an investigative mind
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working in small teams
  • Substantial client communications via phone, email, and Zoom
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite Apps, Adobe Acrobat, and INSZoom
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to understand and self-learn software

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks related to case preparation, including compiling various petitions (EB-1, EB-2 NIW, O-1, L-1, E, AOS and related), extensive writing, document gathering, document review, case drafting, and filing petitions with government agencies
  • Professionally and compassionately communicate with foreign nationals and company contacts under the guidance of your supervisor, providing clear and prompt responses regarding case status or other general inquiries
  • Meet assigned deadlines adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and communicate case progress, status, and escalations to the supervisor
  • Keep the team and clients abreast of case status/progress; actively interview clients for applicable information to add to their case
  • Learn about various types of immigration matters and build knowledge of firm, immigration case types, and client processes
  • Compile and summarize large quantities of data within case management systems for reporting to clients, managers, and the team
  • Understand and contribute to team and individual productivity goals
