We’re thrilled to introduce Amenah Keshari. She joined the Alcorn Immigration Law team last fall as an associate attorney in our business immigration team.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Amenah has been working remotely from Houston. She manages all aspects of employment-based immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, E-1, E-2, F-1, O-1, TN, EB-1, and EB-2 visas, and PERM.
“Alcorn’s mission to provide our service with compassion and kindness is especially important to me,” Amenah says. “I enjoy working directly with clients and truly enjoy helping people try to reach their goals of living and working in the United States.”
Amenah knows how difficult the immigrant experience can be. Originally from Iraq, Amenah and her family moved to Houston when she was 12 years old. Her parents “wanted to move to a country where we could be safe and where my siblings and I could get a good education,” she says. “Moving to the U.S. was difficult since we did not have family or friends to help us with the immigration process.”
That experience prompted Amenah to become a lawyer—the first in her family.
“I wanted to help others navigate the U.S. immigration system,” she says. “Practicing business immigration law enables me to use my strengths to help people,” she adds: “I especially enjoy talking with people to learn about what they do and write compelling narratives that show why they are extraordinary or exceptional in their field and why their application or petition should be approved.”
More About Amenah
Before joining the Alcorn Immigration Law team, Amenah obtained extensive experience in business immigration law in Houston. She focused primarily on EB-2 NIW, EB-1 petitions, PERM, and E-2 investor applications.
Amenah graduated from the University of Houston with honors, earning double bachelor’s degrees in political science and psychology. She earned a law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston. She served as both the assistant editor-in-chief and the review editor at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Journal on Gender, Race, and Justice during law school.
