I love that my job allows me to connect with people from all over the world and become more familiar with the countries and cultures from which they come. When someone tells me that the work I did had a meaningful impact on their life, that means the world to me.
I’ve worked as an immigration paralegal for over 20 years, after spending several years working in the service industry after college. I knew nothing about U.S. immigration law before I started working in the field, but I quickly fell in love with the work. I have worked in small and large immigration firms, and have handled family-based cases, employment-based cases, asylum filings, and Immigration Court work, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the law.
I work remotely from Raleigh, North Carolina, where I have lived since college. Fun fact: my family history can be traced back to the earliest settlers in N.C. and I am (very) distant relatives of George Washington and Winston Churchill.
When I’m not working, I love traveling and spending time with my partner Dan. We enjoy hiking, nature, and national parks, and are currently working our way through South America. I also enjoy cooking and baking, and I am a huge fan of college basketball.
