Pragnya Sudheendra recently celebrated her six-month anniversary at Alcorn Immigration Law. She joined our team as a paralegal earlier this year, assisting with employment-based immigration matters.
Pragnya moved to the Bay Area after spending more than a year living and working in London. She worked as a paralegal at a London-based boutique law firm that helps individuals and companies find U.S. visa and green card solutions.
“What I love about immigration law is being able to personally help people,” says Pragnya. “My work can change a person’s life for the best—and I can see the change firsthand from start to finish. That doesn’t happen in most other fields.”
Pragnya’s drive and passion to help all people secure justice are what initially prompted her to study law. Born and raised in Bangalore, India, Pragnya earned a bachelor’s degree in laws from the Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies. She immigrated to the U.S. to attend Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York.
Three months before her F-1 OPT (Optional Practical Training) was set to end, an immigration law firm sponsored her for an H-1B visa. Given that experience, says Pragnya, “I empathize with our clients—students, foreign professionals, and the companies looking to hire them.”
More About Pragnya
While earning her bachelor’s degree, Pragnya earned a certificate in intellectual property rights law from the National Law School of India University.
Pragnya speaks Hindi and Kannada.
